SJN will offer Thanksgiving Mass on Thursday, November 27 at 9am.  

The SJN Giving Tree is up in the gathering space.  We invite you to take an ornament or two or three...  We do need the gift cards in by Sunday, December 14, so that we can distribute them to our Outreach families that week.  Gift cards can be placed in the lockbox in the gathering space.  We thank you for your generosity!

Advent sometimes just feels like that time that is sandwiched between Thanksgiving and Christmas. In "How to Advent", we will discover the rich traditions that mark this season and how they aid us in preparing our hearts for the birth of the child Jesus at Christmas. Guided by priests, religious, professors, and a charismatic host, you will gain practical tips and spiritual reflection on the practices of the Advent calendar, Advent wreath, Jesse tree, and nativity scene.

There are four episodes in this show that are between 12 and 15 minutes.  Beginning November 30, it will be shown in the Church after the 8am Mass and in Room 3 after the 10am Mass.  Join us in learning "How to Advent!"

Learn about the truth and beauty of Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist, from its origins in Sacred Scripture, to its profound role in the life of the Church and her members. This 4-week study will be offered on Mondays at 1pm, beginning Monday, December 1.  For more info, contact Cheri'.

The Parish Council is sponsoring a Basket Raffle to benefit the parish.  The drawing will occur Sunday, December 7 at the Breakfast with St. Nick.

Tickets are 1 for $1 or 6 for $5 and are available after all Masses.  

We've decided to provide this opportunity of all-night Adoration twice yearly, once in Advent and once in Lent. First Thursday into First Friday of December was chosen to enable a time of Adoration that could fulfill those devotions. To do this we need at least 2 (preferably 3) people signed up for each hour to ensure our Christ exposed in the Eucharist is never left alone. Therefore, I'm sending out this note this early to ensure we can get every hour covered.  We hope you will be able to spend some quiet time with Christ this Dec 4-5th (12:45pm - 7am).

The Knights of Columbus are once again offering Self-Service Christmas Cards. They will be available in the gathering space.

The Seasonal Choir begins practice on Sunday, November 9 at 1:30pm.  Any adult interested in singing in the Christmas choir is welcome!

The Children's Choir will begin practice on Sunday, November 16 at 11am.  Any child interested in singing in the Children's Choir at the 4pm Christmas Eve Mass is welcome to join this group!

If you have ever lived a Cursillo weekend, we invite you to once a month reunion.  Please contact Deacon Brian.

Cursillo a Spanish word meaning "short course". Cursillo in Christianity means short course in Christanity. It is a lay Catholic movement of the Church with its own method to live Christian ideals. To be a Christian in the fullest sense, in the everyday activities of life- with family, in your workplace and community.  If you are interested in learning more about the Cursillo movement, please also contact Deacon Brian.

 

We are excited to share that we are starting a bible study called "The Search".  The Search is an innovative video series/book study that tackles the key questions of every human heart. In seven beautifully filmed episodes as well as short book chapters, Chris Stefanick and experts from multiple fields of science, medicine, psychology, art, and religion examine our place in the larger story of existence. Please reach out if you are interested in joining or have any questions, since we will need to buy materials for the study.

for the annual Men's Retreat will be held at the beautiful Barbara C. Harris Center in Greenfield, NH.  The theme of this year's retreat is "On the Lips of Sinners" and will be led by Rev. David Gagnon, Pastor of St. Joseph in Epping.
