Youth Ministry Kickoff
- Both the high school and middle school youth ministry programs will be kicking off their 2024-2025 school year on September 8 at the Parish Picnic. Come join in on the food and fun with your parish family!
Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids
The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Coats for Kids Drive. They are requesting donations of lightly used or new coats for kids between the ages of 3 to 12. All coats will be cleaned / checked to ensure good condition.
Collection period: April 5 -September 6, 2024.
A large Coats for Kids collection box is provided in the church coat room.
Father Rob's 40th Anniversary
We will be holding a Mass and Parish Picnic to celebrate Father Rob's 40th Anniversary of his Ordination. Please join us for 10am Mass on Sunday, September 8. A parish picnic will immediately follow in the back parking lot. Hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, and paper goods will be provided. Please bring a potluck side or dessert.
We can also use help planning for the day and with set-up and take down. If you are able to help, please contact Teri!
There will be fun for all ages. Come and join your parish family in celebrating Father Rob!

EPIC-A Journey Through Church History
As Catholics, we are the inheritors of holy men and women who over two thousand years built a great civilization and spread the gospel throughout the world. The history of the Church is not just the recitation of popes and saints; it is a story of adventure, intrigue, rebellion, reform, and devotion. In this study you will learn about the important people, places, and events in two thousand years of Church history, presented in twelve easy-to-remember color-coded time periods. You will discover the true stories behind the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and the Protestant Reformation. You will also learn about the massive persecution of Christians in the twentieth century. Throughout, you will be gaining an understanding of the workings of the Holy Spirit in our Church. The better we know our history, the better prepared we will be to face the future.
Beginning September 12th we will be offering sessions Thursdays at 6:00 pm or Fridays at 10:30 am

The Bible and The Virgin Mary
As some may know, the Catholic Church has many traditions, including monthly devotions. Since we celebrate Assumption of Mary in August (15th), devote the month of September to the Seven Sorrows of Mary, the month of October to the rosary, her Immaculate Conception in December (8th, although this year moved to Monday the 9th), and her special role in the Nativity of The Lord, we will gather together Wednesdays from September 11th to December 4th in this 12-session video-based study led by Matthew Leonard from the St Paul Center.
Exactly who is the Blessed Virgin Mary? Can you explain her role in God’s plan for the world? Do you fully understand the vital role she plays in your life?
While Catholics know Mary is important, many never fully grasp how essential she really is. Now they can! Creation Care Ministry
The SJN Creation Care team is helping the Merrimack Citizen Energy Committee in promoting a workshop on heat pumps.
Heat pumps are energy-efficient appliances that can heat and cool your home, potentially saving you money on utility bills. They transfer heat from cooler to warmer areas, and can replace both your air conditioner and furnace.
The workshop will take place Wed. Sept. 11, 2024, at 7 p.m.

The presentation will cover the following:
- What is a heatpump and how does it work
- How does heatpump technology compare with other energy sources
- What are different heatpump options, their different operating efficiencies and relative installation costs
- What are the considerations for retrofitting heatpumps with existing heating systems.
- How to measure the operating cost of a heatpump
- How to determine the return on investment – ROI Example of a recent heatpump installation cost, operating cost comparison with former propane furnace, ROI, and time required for installation.

42nd Annual Scout Retreat!
All Scouts (Boys & Girls) in grades 6-12, and adult leaders, are invited to the 42nd Annual Scout Retreat Fri. Sept. 13 – Sun. Sept. 15, 2024 at Camp Fatima in Gilmanton Iron Works NH. The cost is $20 per scout and $13 per adult. This Retreat is like a Camporee - it’s very active, involving scouts in a number of fun, interesting, challenging, thought provoking and faith filled activities, including a climbing wall, high ropes, capture the flag, and a dance! Put on by Fr. Ray Ball & the Diocesan Catholic Scouting Committee. BSA, GSUSA, American Heritage Girls, Venture Crews, Trail Life, Troops of St. George, and Knights of Columbus Squires are all invited.

Greater Nashua CROP Hunger Walk
“We walk because they walk.” This is our 40th year! The walk will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2024 beginning and ending at Temple Beth Abraham, 4 Raymond Street in Nashua. Registration is from 12 to 1pm with opening ceremonies at 1pm and stepping out at 1:30pm. Those who raise all their monies on line don’t need to register and can grab lunch before coming at 1245. Registration and celebration are in the tent.
